SILENT BREATH Walkthrough
A night plan for posters, dawn, tapes, and why you should not copy one lucky corpse path forever.
A SILENT BREATH walkthrough cannot be a room-by-room script. Bodies move. Scares shuffle. The useful document is a loop: spawn orientation, landmark circuit, poster rules, optional bunker, optional tapes, and what to do when a Sister interrupts. Use this page with the map hub and Getting Started. The embedded longplay shows one clean tape, not every RNG roll.
Spawn and the first decision
You face the starting house. Community maps treat that facing as north. Chapel is close past the house. Cemetery is a right-hand (east) field of statues and coffins. Gas station is behind you, south, with sparking lights similar to the bunker tower. Carnival sprawls southwest. Farm and lake pull southeast. Bus garage and TV house sit west-northwest. Confirm with Landmarks rather than memorising this paragraph as GPS.
Version 1.0 prints the location name beside coordinates and offers a 45-meter compass nudge toward undiscovered sites. Use it to find a named area, then hunt posters with your eyes. Do not stare at the compass during a Sister line (compass notes).
First decision: enter the house for the intro, or skip by running away for the skip achievement. First-timers should take the intro once.
The five-poster loop
Posters sit on missing people at landmarks. There are often more than five bodies; you only need five pickups. Interact is E. After a death, remaining and found locations reshuffle — you cannot “finish the west side later” across deaths.
A stable circuit used by achievement hunters:
- Note spawn facing, flashlight on.
- Chapel north, quick scan for a body.
- Cemetery east, then church further east.
- South to gas station, then southwest carnival and butcher-cabin approach if you want the key the same night.
- Southeast farm, swamp shed, lake boats.
- West TV house, north-west bus garage.
If a landmark is empty, leave. Lingering invites Blind Sister in a parking lot with no building. Speedrunners restart on terrible RNG; you should not, unless you enjoy the genre’s cruelty.
Dawn posters are the default “beat the game” achievement path. If you prefer a hold-out, skip pickups and sit in the bus garage corner by the yellow car until 5:00 AM — a documented scare-farm and dawn method. 1.0 weather hits at 4:00 AM, so the last hour is nastier than EA’s old 2:00 AM storm.
Bunker and tapes as extra endings
Silver key on the butcher cabin table. Entering spawns the hunting butcher for about two minutes; grab and leave, then kite. Bunker door sits near a sparking electrical tower past cemetery/church. Phone on the far table rings after a delay. Full route: bunker guide and cabin page. Public beta branches historically omitted cabin and bunker; 1.0 is the live path.
True ending in 1.0 asks you to find tape recorders and listen. Official notes say recordings explain why you were sent into the forest. Treat tapes as a second-pass objective after posters or bunker. Lore framing is on Wiki lore. Two new map locations shipped with 1.0; walk them once the compass names them rather than assuming EA sketches are complete.
Interruptions that end walkthroughs
Sisters pause the route. Solve the voice, then resume the circuit. Mic cracks waste posters you already held. Stalker wants a stare. Butcher hunt is cabin-triggered. Light-hating threat is a 1.0 add — dim or douse if the wiki threat list says so after you confirm the encounter. Sisters and Stay Silent are the mid-run manuals.
Co-op walkthroughs need callouts that match 1.0 shared coordinates. Still play a solo tape first per developer guidance (multiplayer).
When the camera flickers at dawn or the phone clicks, stop routing and watch. Then decide whether the next tape is 100 percent locations, scare counts, or friends.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is there a fixed poster order in SILENT BREATH?
No. Bodies randomise, especially after death. Run a landmark circuit and take the five you see.
Can I beat a night without posters?
Yes. Survive until 5:00 AM, or complete the bunker phone. Holding in the bus garage is a known dawn strategy.
Does the YouTube longplay match my map?
It shows one seed. Use it for pacing and scare density, not as a copy-paste GPS.
Where is the true ending?
Version 1.0 added tape recorders. Listen to the forest recordings after you can survive Sisters; see lore and the 1.0 update page.
