SILENT BREATH Version 1.0
20 August 2026: the story tapes, the 45-meter compass, and a forest that is still being patched.
Version 1.0 is the full release of SILENT BREATH, dated 20 August 2026 on Steam, after Early Access from 5 April 2024. The trailer on this page is the older IGN EA date trailer — there was no widely indexed 1.0 cinematic with a separate ID at research time, so we do not invent one. The words below come from the developer’s Steam announcement, not from a fake patch file.
Ahmet delayed the finish for family health and because the community asked for multiplayer. He calls co-op a gift and still tells newcomers to play singleplayer first. Story, he says, was complete in his head from the beginning. 1.0 is when he put the pieces down: recordings in the forest, a reason you were sent, an ending he had been afraid to ship because the journey felt like a show he did not want to end.
New content
True ending via tape recorders. Five new scares. A new deadly threat that does not like light. Two new locations. Two new achievements. If you are hunting 100 percent, your EA list is incomplete.
Navigation
Active compass assist ~45 m for undiscovered locations. Current location name beside coordinates. Cleaner coordinate text. SP/MP coordinates aligned. Missing-person spawns reworked to be more logical and to make you walk. Deadly threat balancing. Flashlight range up, dim bug fixed. Do not use the needle beside Sisters — he wrote that too. Practical HUD use: compass guide.
Camera and accessibility
Stress overlays on behind-scares. Dynamic camera tilt for found-footage without (hopefully) nausea. VHS and fisheye redesigned; 1.01A lets you disable fisheye. AutoDOF fixes. Hide HUD option. More full-screen effects.
Visuals and weather
Lighting pass, close-up artifact fixes from engine upgrades, texture optimisation, Lumen work, experimental perf systems, cheaper better fog, graphics settings actually applying, low-preset shadows, smoke/fire, rain/snow. Severe weather moved from 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM. End-of-run weather clear fix.
Multiplayer in the 1.0 bundle
Cap 5. Mic Gain fix. Night darkness fix for some clients. Q emote menu render fix. See multiplayer guide and multiplayer update.
Fixes that matter to endings
Mic-death camera fall. House streaming on a basic ending. Hiker Footage scare leak. Animal charge animations. Bunker phone had already been fixed in 0.991E; 1.0 still calls out ending-adjacent streaming. Audio SFX pass.
How to play 1.0 as a returning EA user
Unlearn “there is no compass.” Learn location names. Hunt tapes after you can survive Sisters. Expect fewer posters per square meter. Expect a light-sensitive killer. Read walkthrough, lore, review. Then go back in. He said development continues. This wiki will lag Steam by a patch; prefer the news hub when something contradicts us.
Returning-player checklist
If you last played in 2024: the forest is still the forest, but the HUD is kinder, the storms are later, the flashlight reaches farther, and the story has an official last page. You still die in three screams. You still fail Big Sister by looking away. You still should not treat co-op as the campaign. The light-hating threat is the one new “read the wiki” monster; until it has a stable community name, play around the beam when a death does not match Sisters or butcher.
Tapes are the 1.0 homework. Do not hunt them on night one unless you already clear Sisters in your sleep. Pair this patch page with lore after you hear the recordings, not before — the letter already told you why you were sent, in one sentence. The rest is in the trees. If the IGN trailer on this page looks old, it is. It is still the same game’s face. 1.0 changed the ending, not the pitch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is 1.0 the end of updates?
No. The letter says development continues after 1.0 and that feedback still matters.
What is the true ending requirement?
Find and listen to tape recorders in the forest. Official notes do not print a numbered checklist; explore named 1.0 locations.
Did weather get easier?
Severe weather now starts at 4:00 AM instead of 2:00 AM, giving a longer clean night.
