Forest Landmarks

Landmarks are how you navigate SILENT BREATH without a drawn map. Location achievements pop when you enter the vicinity; posters like to sit on bodies near these same sites. Headings below assume you spawn facing the starting house as community north. Version 1.0 may print a different official name on the HUD — believe the HUD, use this list for relationships.

Starting house / crime scene. Tutorial porch. Skip achievement if you run away without entering. Your reset point after deaths.

Chapel. Close, ahead of the house. Easy first pin. Bodies sometimes sit in or around it; do not assume.

Cemetery. Right of spawn (east on classic sketches). Statues, coffins, scale that is hard to miss. Walking through it is the usual path toward church and eventually bunker spark logic. See bunker.

Church. Further along the cemetery line. Distinct from the chapel. Comments use church as the “then go south for bunker” landmark.

Gas station. Behind spawn, south. Sparks like the bunker tower — do not confuse the two. Yellow car near GS appears in coordinate dumps as a stepping stone toward campsite and cabin.

Carnival / amusement park. Southwest sprawl, huge, mailboxes on some approaches. Stalker farmers mention hanging around here. Cabin routes pass mailboxes and a railroad car.

Butcher cabin. Between carnival and blue tents/boats in several guides. Own page: Butcher’s Cabin.

Farm. Southeast, windmill as a tell. Orange-yellow car and swamp shed as breadcrumbs.

Lake. Far southeast, boats. South of farm if you already have that pin.

TV house. West of spawn, north of carnival on some sketches.

Bus garage. Northwest. Yellow car inside a small garage. Documented 5 AM hold and scare-farm corner. Stalker achievement is not guaranteed AFK here; some players still need a face-to-face stare.

1.0 extras. Two new locations and tape recorders. When the compass names something that is not on this 2024-era list, go there. Compass explains the 45-meter ping.

How to run them without dying to geography

Pick a circuit, not a wander. Walkthrough orders a poster loop. If empty, leave. Edge wrap will scramble your mental north; re-find the spawn house silhouette or HUD name.

Sisters do not care that you are “almost at the lake.” Solve the voice first (Sisters). Mic still counts while you sightsee (Stay Silent).

Co-op: call landmark plus coordinates. “Carnival” alone is a hectare.

Use the night checklist to mark which pins you already swept this tape. Death wipes poster progress; landmark knowledge stays in your head.

A memory palace that survives a wipe

Death deletes posters, not your sense of place. The second tape is faster because the chapel roof is a fact. Build the palace in this order: house silhouette, chapel, cemetery scale, gas spark, carnival noise, farm windmill, lake boats, TV house block, bus garage door. If you add butcher cabin too early, you add a chase to a memory drill. Add it after you can loop the plus-sign without thinking.

Sound is a landmark too. Carnival music, pole crackle, boat knock, generator hum — UE5 loves diegetic noise. Do not confuse those with Sister VO. If a laugh is wet and close, that is Big Sister, not a ride. Encounter sheet stays beside this list for that reason.

When 1.0 names a pin this list lacks, write it on paper. Two new locations were advertised; they will become as important as the gas station once tape hunters settle a route. Until then, do not assume Hotdog7’s sketch is complete. Use it as a relationship diagram, then let the live nameplate veto the sketch. That hybrid is how you stop arguing east versus west in the bunker comments section of your own brain.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What landmark should I learn first?

Spawn house, chapel, cemetery, and gas station. Those four make a plus-sign you can expand from.

Is the chapel the same as the church?

No. Chapel is near spawn. Church sits beyond the cemetery on the usual eastward walk.

Where do I wait until 5 AM?

Bus garage interior, back corner beside the yellow car, is a popular hold. Monsters often cannot occupy that pocket well.

Do posters always spawn at every landmark?

No. Visit many. There can be more than five bodies; you still only need five pickups.
