SILENT BREATH Sisters of the Forest
Four hunters, four requests, one forest that rumours them for years.
Store copy names the Sisters of the Forest as rumoured night hunters who play games with you. Gameplay makes that literal. Each Sister is a voiced minigame. Fail it and the tape resets. This page is identity and comparison; the mechanical essay is How to Beat the Sisters. Keep both, plus the encounter sheet.
There are four in the widely documented roster. 1.0 added other deadly threats that are not Sisters. If a new voice does not match these four, look at Wiki Hub and 1.0.
Big Sister
Sound-led. Crying laugh, rustle, flicker. Weeping Angel rules: stare to freeze, look away to die. Easiest once you understand the rule, lethal if you treat her like a fake scare. Achievement tied to surviving her. Kite backward with flashlight on her silhouette.
Blind Sister
Hide-and-seek speech, countdown from ten, body dragging. Cannot see; arms catch trees. Buildings good, trees iffy. Sprint-away cheese exists. Later patches reduced seek range in co-op. Often rated hardest. Survival achievement is the countdown escape.
Armless Sister
Freeze / smell / come close lines. Spawns in your face after flicker. Zero WASD. Mouse strictness depends who you ask; freeze everything to farm. Leap into trees is a fail, not a success. Sniff despawn is the live.
Shy Sister
Looks-shame lines. Covering face. Looking too long = retreat then slash. Avert camera including feet. Opposite of Big Sister. Easy once you refuse the instinct to identify the model.
Difficulty snapshot
Not a gacha tier list. A practical order for learners: Shy (look away), Armless (stop), Big (stare), Blind (space). Your worst sister is the one whose rule you mix up. Two-at-once is an achievement and a coin flip.
Multiplayer notes
Sisters were made more aggressive when co-op launched. Hide-and-seek stop-killing bugs were patched. Still call the sister name, not “her.” See Multiplayer.
Lore-wise they are the forest’s celebrity monsters. Tapes in 1.0 may reframe them; lore holds story talk. Geography of spawns is anywhere — they are not cabin bosses. Cabin boss is the butcher (butcher cabin).
If you came from a wipe, re-read only the sister who just spoke. Rereading all four mid-chase is how Armless gets a moving target.
Names, rumours, and 1.0 leftovers
Store text still sells them as rumoured hunters. Gameplay sells them as quizzes. If tapes recast their origin, that belongs in lore after you listen, not in a mid-fight wiki tab. The four-name roster is stable enough for achievements; extra 1.0 killers are not automatically Sisters just because they are female or fog-shaped. Wait for a voice line. If there is no request, it may be theatre or the light-hater — Wiki Hub keeps that split.
Difficulty order is a teaching tool, not a PvP tier list. Blind punishes geography. Big punishes cameras. Armless punishes panic inputs. Shy punishes curiosity. Your personal hardest is the rule you keep swapping. Two-at-once is a badge, not a skill check you must farm. When co-op makes them meaner, the rules do not invert; only the timer in your head gets shorter. Call the name. Do the rule. Resume the walkthrough.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many Sisters are in SILENT BREATH?
Four documented: Big, Blind, Armless, and Shy. Other killers exist and 1.0 added a non-Sister deadly threat.
Do Sisters only appear at night?
They are night hunters in the fiction and in practice show up once the forest is dangerous. Do not wait around to find out in daylight if the HUD already says night.
Is there a Sister in the butcher cabin?
The cabin spawns the butcher hunt. Sisters can still interrupt anywhere, including on the way to the bunker.
